Cybersmart Review

This is our Co-operative work we have been learning and working on for the past two or so weeks. This was all about a reflection or a review of our crazy mixed 2020 year of Cybersmart. This year in Cybersmart we have been learning about so many tools and skills and even some mindset work when we are learning!
Some of my favourite things that I've learned to do include Scratch, Google slides and The other things included in our slide below.

Some of the things that have been the most challenging are working together as a group while making a video of what we have learned throughout the year. To make this better for me next time I will make a clear plan of what we are saying work more cooperatively with my pairs.    

When we made our review, I was thinking about how much we had learned throughout the year and how amazing our teacher Mrs. Williams is!

Summer Learning Journey

 We were told about a Summer Learning Journey and A summer program to help learning during summer so your learning does not slump.

It was easy to paint the version of the piece of art (I forgot the name) I chose because the you can colour in big section all the same colour very quickly. To challenge myself next time I will colour the art work in with more detail.

It was difficult to try and replicate the piece of art I chose to copy, the reason for this was because I had to go back and forth between the original and my copy to make it the same. To make it easier next time I can choose an easier picture to replicate.

More (Real) Postcards

 We had continued to focus on phishing and fake news online. I traveled to Los Angeles to have the best time of my life. This was a very fun activity and I think it is a good way of teaching the students what is real or what is fake.

It was Easy to do my picture because It was quite plain. This was still fun and I learned lots from this activity. to challenge myself I will add a more detailed creative DLO.

It was definitely tricky to write fake facts about what we did. I think that i can make this easier by thinking of what I want to do inthe future when I (hopefully) travel the world.

Next time I will finish Work much much faster because I had to use up 1 and a half lessons to finish. 

Real postcard (not clickbait!)

 I learnt that click bait things happen more then you think! In 2017 10 million dollars was lost through scams and a year later 33 million dollars was lost! another thing I learnt was that 48% of the scams were done to people over 65 years old!

For our DLO we made a Fa-Real postcard of us in a place of our choice.
It was quite easy to remove the background, so to challenge myself next time I will add more images with removed background to make my surroundings look real.

It was difficult to finish on time because I got so stuck into my work I lost track of time! To improve on this I can check time regularly to make sure I finish on time. 

My Co-op Group's E-book

 I don't like to record myself on camera because I always have voice cracks and things like that...
Today we made an E-book for those who don't know how to use scratch. I decided to make a screencast on how to do something on scratch.

I did mine on how to make a character from the scratch library walk. this was very annoying to record because as usual, I mess up.

Next time I will  re-record my screencast until I finally get a good take because my final take was still quite average.

How to make a character be animated

I'm not quite the person that likes being recorded but today is different. today I recorded how to make a character become animated and look like it's walking. It was easy to prepare myself before recording because I enjoy coding and knew exactly what to teach. to challenge myself next time I will do more advanced codes so the viewers can . It was very hard and very annoying to record my video because I keep on messing up. next time I will complete this kind of task in less attempts.

Scratch commenting

Scratch is so cool because it get you thinking a lot!
In this game you just sit and take in the tip on blog commenting.
Do remember to put your name in the slot that it wants you to.
We were learning about how to use scratch to code a game about commenting.
It was easy to make the costumes for my characters.
It was quite hard to make that strange looking cat run.
Next time I will make my game a bit more complicated because it was very simple. 

Digital reading challenge

We were doing a reading challenge for the past few days.
We would read a story and voice type it into this slide.
It was easy to record my voice because it's very simple.
It was difficult to edit my first paragraph.
Next time I will speak more clearly when reading because it could not pick up my voice that well.

Animal avatar

We were learning about why getting help is good and how to make an avatar I found it easy to make the wolf on fire and all these little added bits and pieces. I found it challenging to decide on the animal because there were so many call animals to choose from. Next time I will get done faster (once again).

Quality blog posts

We were learning about correct blog posts and how to do them.

I found it easy to Add my picture and write my comment.

I found it challenging to make my comment in google drawing because I was not able to comment on a real blog post (in other words I faked it). 

Next time I will work faster and make sure my commenting works.

My friends blog tour (done by me)

We were learning about what the importance of a blog is and why we use them. I found it easy to do all my animations on my slide. I found it challenging to record my tour, it took so many attempts! Next time I will get done quicker as usual.

The Grand Blog Tour

We were learning about how to use screencastify. I found it easy to make the slide because it wasn't that much work. I found it hard to record my cast because my mate made me fail a couple times. Next time I will get it done faster.

About Me (writing part)

We were learning about what information is safe to put online. I found it easy to use skill of the week, VOICE TYPING!! I found it difficult to finish all of it on time. Next time I will try to add more info to my paragraphs.

And now.. here my writing is!!

My name is Curtis. My favourite hobbies is guitar and skateboarding. My mother's side of our family is Japanese, and my dad's is European and Scottish. I have one brother who is 2 years older than me. I go to Awapuni School and my favourite topic is literacy and music. My absolute DISLIKES are Fortnite dances, radish, eggplant, pumpkin, beetroot and… being bored. 

People say I'm good at maths but I enjoy literacy better. My favourite sports are Cricket, Surfing and Skating. 

My goal for the year is to get the student of the week. I know he is famous but I look up to Jimmy Page, the lead guitarist of Led Zeppelin.

A bit about me!

We were learning about what information is safe to put online and what isn't.
It was easy to write and customise my paragraph. I did this a bit late because I spent so much time on my drawing.
It was difficult to do my hand. at first I couldn't get it from bottom up so I did it top to down. I also had to customise my hands nice symbol.
Next time I will do my paragraph before my picture because it took so long.
   

Phishing

We were learning about Phishing (no It is spelt that way) and what it is. It is scams and fake news. It was easy to add the fak- no real backround. it was hard to write things what I did Because I do NOT know anything about rarotonga (apart from the fact I didn't- no did go to it). next time i'll write more about my fa- trip to Raro.

Cybersmart app with my buddy Ebony

We were learning about making apps out of google slides. I worked with my buddy Ebony (as you may see in the title). it was easy writing down the awnsers. I found it hard to link everything up. It was enjoyable watch my friends take the quiz, and I hope you enjoy it as much as my friends. Next time I'll finish it.

Commenting lesson on scratch

We were learning about using scratch and fixing up a game. I found it easy to put the code together. I found it hard to get the x position and the y position right. I really enjoyed making the charcter. Next time I need to finish

Blobfish furniture presents: flying chair!

we learnt about working together as a table group. it was fun drawing the chair in my book. it was harder to draw it online because you can't make your own shapes. it was easy to draw in my book. next time i will comunicate more with my group.

A challenge, an animation, A BIG CHALLENGE

We were doing animations in big groups. it was so hard to communicate and know what every one was doing.  it wasn't easy! next time we will make the movment smoother.

poly FUN!

We were using poly line (again) and we had to make our face. it was easy to make the bigger shapes because I didnt have to zoom in. it was hard to keep my cool because it stoped me from making a full shape. next time I should get it done!
