Summer Learning Journey

We were told about a Summer Learning Journey and A summer program to help learning during summer so your learning does not slump.

It was easy to paint the version of the piece of art (I forgot the name) I chose because the you can colour in big section all the same colour very quickly. To challenge myself next time I will colour the art work in with more detail.

It was difficult to try and replicate the piece of art I chose to copy, the reason for this was because I had to go back and forth between the original and my copy to make it the same. To make it easier next time I can choose an easier picture to replicate.

By the way, Here's the link for the website:  https://artsandculture.google.com/experiment/art-coloring-book/1QGsh6vSfAQBgQ?hl=en

Christmas!

Scratch, Just more scratch.
I love Christmas so much that I even made a scratch game about it!
The main learning for this was writing a descriptive letter of why we love christmas and then get creative, this is the creative part.

It was easy to make the basic function of the backgrounds because I used Scratch's premade backgrounds. To challenge myself next time I can make the rabbit say different things every time the background changes.

it was really hard to create the animation of the Rabbit moving because he had to sit down when he was moving and when he was facing another direction he had to change costume. To make this easier to do next time i can make a more simple version of the running.

Next time I will finish in the time given because it was a scratch game and I take ages to make games on scratch.

Fireworks!

A few nights ago I could not sleep, the reason being was... Fireworks!
In the past week Fireworks were set of to celebrate Guy Fawkes. Our mission today was to write a creative acrostic poems to describe the fireworks.

It was easy to make the background look pretty because, that's just what I do. to challenge myself next time I can adjust how busy it is because currently its a bit to busy and focuses on the background too much.

It was difficult to complete my challenge I set myself before hand which was making the poem rhyme. I really enjoyed this challenge and think that it improved my writing.

My next steps are to add more detailed descriptive words that still rhyme/relate to the other sentences.

Enjoy!

More (Real) Postcards

We had continued to focus on phishing and fake news online. I traveled to Los Angeles to have the best time of my life. This was a very fun activity and I think it is a good way of teaching the students what is real or what is fake.

It was Easy to do my picture because It was quite plain. This was still fun and I learned lots from this activity. to challenge myself I will add a more detailed creative DLO.

It was definitely tricky to write fake facts about what we did. I think that i can make this easier by thinking of what I want to do inthe future when I (hopefully) travel the world.

Next time I will finish Work much much faster because I had to use up 1 and a half lessons to finish.

Real postcard (not clickbait!)

I learnt that click bait things happen more then you think! In 2017 10 million dollars was lost through scams and a year later 33 million dollars was lost! another thing I learnt was that 48% of the scams were done to people over 65 years old!

For our DLO we made a Fa-Real postcard of us in a place of our choice.
It was quite easy to remove the background, so to challenge myself next time I will add more images with removed background to make my surroundings look real.

It was difficult to finish on time because I got so stuck into my work I lost track of time! To improve on this I can check time regularly to make sure I finish on time.

Ten things that are Important in Recounts

Welcome to my blog! Rautaki, my writing buddy and Me have listed 10 things to include in a recount.
This was a recap activity to make sure we fully understood what to use in our writing.

It was easy to do the first few reasons because all the ideas were new and fresh in my head. To challenge myself next time I will narrow down my think into more specific ideas.

It was hard to think of ideas near the end because we were under pressure of the time left and were running out of ideas.

My next step is to list things down faster with more specific ideas because I can't write as fast as my buddy Rautaki, Yet...

Anyhoo,
Things to include🠟

  1. Use correct tense (Past, Present or Future) In this case you will write Past

  2. Detailed/descriptive Words/ paint a picture in the reader''s mind.

  3. Correct punctuation (in the right place for the right reason). (.,/?*&%!@`~)

  4. Language features (Alliteration, similes, Onomatopoeia, Metfores)

  5. Paragraphs, Correct places.

  6. Include Senses (Felt, Tasted, Smelt, Heard)

  7. Editing. (make sure it makes sense)

  8. Full sentences so they make sense.

  9. Who, what, where, when and why should be explained in the story.

  10. Use emotions, how did it make you feel...

My Writing goal: to Write faster and more quality at the same time.

Persuasive Writing

This term we have focused on many things including Water quality and persuasive Writing. Our teachers kind of merged these to together and set us to Persuade someone to believe that The Environment is our Responsibility.

I found it easy to turn my planning into the draft because, after all, I'm just copy (ctrl+c) and pasting (ctrl+v) the planning information and giving it more depth.

It was difficult to put information into my own words because once I read the information, it's stuck in my head as the words I just read. If practise I can get better though.

I really enjoyed publishing (the slide deck below↓) the draft into a slide because my creativity takes over and I like making things look nice.

Next time I will  try and make my own designs because the amazing google gave me these awesome themes/backdrops.

Enjoy!!
